ELKINS — In celebration of Healthy Vision Month, Davis Medical Center is excited to host a special event featuring complimentary eye screenings. The event will take place on Thursday, July 25, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the DMC Marketplace.

Healthy Vision Month is an annual observance dedicated to the importance of maintaining good eye health and the prevention of vision problems. Dr. Misty Wray, ophthalmologist, and her staff will provide eye screenings to attendees.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Wray join us for Healthy Vision Month,” said Chad Ware, Davis Health System Community Liaison. “Eye health is crucial to overall well-being, and this event provides an excellent opportunity for community members to receive essential eye care services. Regular eye screenings can help detect problems early and prevent vision loss, and we are committed to making these services accessible to everyone.”

During the event, Dr. Wray and a team of trained professionals will offer comprehensive eye screenings, including tests for visual acuity, reading vision, stereo acuity (depth perception), color vision, macular disease, motility, and other common eye conditions. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about eye health tips, preventive measures, and the latest advancements in ophthalmology.

Dr. Wray expressed enthusiasm about participating in the event.

“Early detection and timely intervention are key to preserving vision, and I look forward to helping our community stay informed and proactive about their eye care,” Wray said.

The Healthy Vision Month event is free and open to the public. No appointment is necessary, but attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as screenings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
