Elkins High School recently celebrated the installation of a new athletic field scoreboard, sponsored jointly by Davis Health System (DHS) and Citizens Bank of West Virginia. The dedication event featured a special coin toss at the home opening football game, bringing together students, families and community members to kick off the season.

The brand-new scoreboard, prominently displayed at the athletic field, represents a significant enhancement for the school’s sports programs and a shared commitment by both organizations to support youth athletics and community engagement. Mark Gilliam, DHS Chief Operating Officer, performed the ceremonial coin toss alongside Citizens Bank President and CEO Nathaniel S. Bonnell.

“We are thrilled to support Elkins High and its incredible athletic programs,” said Gilliam. “We believe in investing in our community, and this scoreboard is a great way to enhance the experience for athletes and fans alike.”

Bonnell added, “Citizens is pleased to provide a better game experience for our community by investing in the digital and video scoreboard. One of the many things our 100-year history has taught us is the importance of supporting, enhancing and building stronger communities, and we are especially proud to be a partner in this project.”

The joint sponsorship represents the strong partnership between Citizens Bank, Davis Health and the local community, demonstrating their ongoing dedication to supporting local schools, sports programs and community wellness initiatives.
