David E. Hinkle

David E. Hinkle, age 69, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at WVU Wheeling Hospital.

He was born on March 7, 1955, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Verlin Jay Hinkle and Kathleen May Beam Hinkle.

On January 29, 1983, he was united in marriage to Deloris J. Bright Hinkle, who survives. Also surviving are three children: Joe Yeager and wife Miranda of Gore, VA, Tina Self and husband Kenny of Cox Mills, WV, and Jessica Adkins and husband Ronnie of Weston; seven grandchildren: Brian Self, Matthew Self, Olivya Yeager, Wyatt Yeager, Kaylea Adkins, Elijah Adkins, and Ryan Adkins; two brothers: Richard Hinkle of Parkersburg, and Dan Hinkle and wife Debbie of Buckhannon; three sisters: Shirley Powers of Orrville, OH, Patricia Powers of Smithville, Ohio, and Sandra Kimble of Buckhannon; sister-in-law Carol Hinkle of Parkersburg; and special friends Mike and Linda Hicks, and Bill and Tina Bowman.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: George Hinkle, Betty Thren, Sue Davis; and brother-in-law Charles R. Kimble

David enjoyed farming and was skilled in small engine repair. He was retired from Pittsburgh Tube in Jane Lew with 33 years of service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 2 –4 PM, at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11 AM, at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Rodney Heckert officiating. Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
