KINGWOOD – The Buckhannon-Upshur golf Buccaneers won a dual Big 10 Conference outing with the Preston Knights Tuesday evening at the Kingwood Country Club.

The Bucs fired a 166 while Preston was 13 strokes behind with a 179.

“Its always good to win and to see our scores return back to normal as a team,” noted Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Westfall.

Preston’s Stephen Felton earned low medalist honors as he carded a 38.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Evan Coffman and Isaac Lane both took runner-up honors as they shot 39s.

Landon Hitt carded a 42 and Tucker Hurst rounded out the B-U scoring with a 46.

Easton Perkins fired a 46 and Brayden Hamer shot a 47 to round out the Buccaneer line-up.

“Lane was able to get back to the place he was at this time last year, which makes us a very tough team to beat,” Westfall said. “Coffman continues to be our most consistent player. Hitt played well and is pushing for the top spot on the team. The competition amongst our team helps us to be very good.”

The Bucs are now 31-6 overall and 15-0 in the Big 10 Conference.

Weather permitting, they were slated to play at Green Hills CC with North Marion, Preston and East Fairmont on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Bucs will host North Marion and Elkins at the Buckhannon Country Club.
