City releases full Community & Kindness Day 2018 video

BUCKHANNON — On Saturday, Oct. 27, volunteers joined together for a day of service in the City of Buckhannon. In attendance were approximately 100 West Virginia Wesleyan College students and community members.

Some of the community projects included cleaning at the Upshur County Senior Center, property cleanups with the Good Neighbor Program, park and community garden cleanups, three REAP Adopt-A-Highway & Adopt-A-Spot locations, and more!

Volunteers would like to thank their community partners — the City of Buckhannon, Lowe’s, Sam’s Pizza, W.Va. Dept. of Environmental Protection’s REAP program and WVWC — for all of their help planning and executing this event.

Volunteers who brought a non-perishable item to benefit the Parish House were entered into a raffle for prizes. Our raffle winners are Andi Cartier, Courtney Jack, Garrett Summers, and Madison Robinson.

A special thanks to Fish Hawk Acres, Stone Tower Brews, Almost Heaven Crossfit, Tahoe Management 8 and Theta Chi for your raffle donations! What a successful day of unity and giving.
