BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan women’s basketball team delivered its most complete performance of the season on Wednesday afternoon inside Rockefeller Center, powering past Point Park University, 83–58, in a Mountain East Conference matchup.
Wesleyan controlled the game on both ends, shooting a blistering 53% from the field and out-rebounding the Pioneers 31–27. A dominant third quarter—where the Bobcats erupted for 29 points on 75% shooting—broke the game open and set the tone for a convincing home victory.
Freshman guard Kilah Dandridge produced a commanding performance, finishing with 30 points on 13-of-22 shooting, adding three rebounds, two steals, and a 3-for-5 mark at the free-throw line. Dandridge scored in every quarter and consistently overpowered the Point Park interior, recording 10 of Wesleyan’s 29 points in the decisive third period.
Sophomore guard Ana Young continued her efficient perimeter shooting, knocking down 4-of-7 from three on her way to 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Forward Emma Witt delivered a complete two-way effort with 15 points, eight rebounds, and a steal while shooting 6-for-10 from the floor. Witt’s paint presence was crucial to Wesleyan’s 36 points scored at the rim.
Guard Sydney Baird added eight points, six rebounds, and four assists, including key passing contributions during Wesleyan’s third-quarter burst.
Off the bench, Avery Childers chipped in six points and six rebounds, while Abby McDonough, Addie Davis, and Kenley Kveton each contributed timely baskets as all 18 Lady Bobcats saw action.
Wesleyan jumped ahead 18–8 after the opening quarter, holding Point Park to just three made field goals in the first 10 minutes. The Pioneers responded with a better offensive rhythm in the second quarter, but the Lady Bobcats maintained control with balanced scoring from Young, Childers, and Dandridge to enter halftime up 37–30.
The third quarter was the turning point. Wesleyan outscored Point Park 29–16, showcasing excellent ball movement and interior dominance. Dandridge, Young, and Witt combined for 23 of the Lady Bobcats’ points in the period. Wesleyan led 66–46 entering the final frame and never allowed Point Park to threaten.
The Pioneers were led by Elizabeth Boyd, who scored 17 points off the bench, and Camille Fultz, who added 13 points. Point Park shot 40% from the floor, but Wesleyan’s defensive pressure forced 14 turnovers, fueling the Lady Bobcats’ transition game.
Wesleyan goes on the road Saturday, Dec. 13 for 2 p.m. tip with Salem University.
