BUCKHANNON — City of Buckhannon Sanitation Department Officials report that several storm sewer drains have been plugged with grass clippings over the last three weeks. Had the crews not been able to clear them quickly enough between rains, flooding could have occurred.

When you or your yard service finish mowing, excess grass MUST be collected and disposed of properly.

The City of Buckhannon collects yard debris early on the first and third Friday mornings of the month. You must call and schedule a pickup before noon on the prior Thursday. Please note: Yard waste is collected by the Street Department and is not treated as garbage.

Please do not dispose of yard waste as part of your weekly trash pickup.
