The City of Buckhannon has released its regular street sweeping schedule, encouraging residents to move vehicles off the street before their scheduled day to help crews keep neighborhoods clean.
Weather, emergencies, holidays or equipment issues may occasionally delay service. If that happens, the street will be swept on its next regular sweeping day.
Monday schedule
1st Monday of every month: Franklin, Meadow, Maple, Green, Henry, Pinnell and W. Lincoln area
2nd Monday of every month: North end and all streets intersecting Island Ave.
Wednesday schedule
1st Wednesday: Boggess, Gum, Park, Kepner, Myrna and Chestnut
2nd Wednesday: Florida Street and Marion Street
3rd Wednesday: E. Lincoln, Third Ave., Central, Arnold, Hart, Victoria, Smithfield, Elizabeth, Elm and Madison
4th Wednesday: Pocahontas, Camden, Randolph, Wood, Railroad Ave. and Madison
Thursday schedule
1st Thursday: Leonard St., Reger Ave. and all streets in that area
2nd Thursday: E. Main, Sedgewick, Meade, Lumber, Lightburn, Latham and Florence
3rd Thursday: Barbour, Fayette, Tucker and Pocahontas
4th Thursday: Ohio, Monongalia, Taylor, Preston, Ritchie, Brooke and Braxton
Additional notes
The sweeper does not work on Saturdays or Sundays. Downtown sweeping — including College Avenue, Kanawha Street, the municipal parking lots and the City Hall lot — takes place on a nighttime schedule, midnight to 8 a.m., as needed.
