Ciara Brooke Howard

Ciara Brooke Howard, 28, of French Creek, earned her heavenly wings on Monday, September 21, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. 

She was born on October 10, 1991, in Morgantown, a daughter of Ronnie Allen Howard, who survives, and Joni K. Nelson-Howard, who survives. 

Also surviving are one sister Tiara Nicole Howard; paternal grandmother Janet L. Howard; maternal grandmother Kay Nelson Hudgins; special loving aunt Susan Meeks; several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her adored four-legged babies:  Shug Bear, Rocco, Bandit, and Buck. 

She was preceded in death by grandparents:  Roscoe “Buck” Nelson, C. Earl Howard, and Fred Hudgins.

Ciara was a 2010 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and had recently earned her wings from the TAA Flight Attendant Training in Charlotte, N.C.  She loved all animals and had rescued countless pets in need. Her family was the center of her life and she enjoyed assisting at the family’s businesses. She was also an excellent cook and decorator.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, 2020, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. Private graveside services and interment will be held at the French Creek Memorial Gardens with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WVU Medicine Children’s Diabetes Development Office, PO Box 8200, Morgantown, WV 26506 or the Upshur County Humane Society, PO Box 2292, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
