Chelsea Lea Gum

Chelsea Lea Gum, 24, of Summersville, and formerly of Buckhannon, died Saturday, December 5, 2020, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. 

She was born on June 25, 1996, in Elkins, W.Va.  She is survived by her parents, Johnny and Linda Godfrey Gum, of Summersville; her daughter Kaia Gum of Summersville; two sisters:  Amber and husband Carl Arcaro of Wilmington, Delaware and Whitny and husband Davis Armour of Ft. Worth, Texas; maternal grandmother Ilene Malcolm and husband Ron of Volga; maternal grandfather Arley J. Godfrey and wife Cathy of Frenchton; four aunts: Connie and husband Bill Gibson, Donna and husband Randy Zickefoose, Melinda Eddy, and Shelby Godfrey; and one uncle Darius Godfrey. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Wayne Gum.

Chelsea was an avid reader, a talented sketch artist, and loved spending time with her daughter, who was the light of her life.

The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 1-2 p.m., at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel.  A private memorial service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation and interment will be held at a later date.
