Charles Clinton Bennett

Charles Clinton (“Charlie” “Chuck”) Bennett, 82, of the Waterloo Road, French Creek, died Monday, October 5, 2020, at his home. 

He was born on September 4, 1938, at Swamp Run, Buckhannon, a son of the late Archie Baxter and Edna Dell Moats Bennett. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Jean Carlyle; three sisters:  Maxine, Emogene, and Louise; and five brothers:  Ike, Steve, Harold (Pete), George (Woody), and Durbin. 

On March 29, 1982, he was united in marriage to Mary Kaye Cain Bennett, who survives along with her two children: Jason Detamore and wife Lindsay and Katherine and husband Ray Unrue. 

Also surviving are four children: Keith Bennett and wife Stephanie, Stacy and husband Carty Ball, Kay and husband Sam Wagoner, and Becky and husband David McAdams; four stepchildren: Joyce, Cheryl, Bonnie, and Denis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters:  Wanda, Sue, and Elaine; his two beloved dogs: Ranger and Angel; and special cat Tigger. 

Mr. Bennett was a dozer operator for most of his life, beginning at age 20, and had been employed by the following: Mahem Quarry, Don Riffle, Meadowfill Land Fill, DL&M Coal, and most recently at Tire and Rubber of Weston. He was an avid woodworker, liked to hunt, and enjoyed watching deer at his home. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel.  A graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. Wease Day officiating.
