Chapman celebrates three-year anniversary as owner of Fox’s Pizza Den

Caressa Chapman is celebrating her three-year anniversary of owning Fox's Pizza Den in Buckhannon.

BUCKHANNON – An Upshur County native is celebrating her three-year anniversary today as the owner of a downtown eatery.

Caressa Chapman purchased Fox’s Pizza Den, located beside Jawbone Park at 4 Trader’s Alley, in 2016. This week she took a minute to reflect on her business journey and the people who have contributed to the success of the local Fox’s Pizza Den.

“I want to thank all of my customers,” Chapman said. “I wouldn’t be able to hit this milestone without them and their support, so I want to thank everyone who has supported me and made me successful.”

Chapman said she has loyal regulars who eat at the restaurant almost daily.

“I see some people every day,” Chapman said. “They like the quality food, the good customer service and our really friendly staff.”

Another reason Fox’s Pizza has such a loyal following is because they will deliver farther to make enjoying their food more convenient, Chapman explained.

“I will go just about anywhere,” she said. “I have gone to Hodgesville before because I believe the purpose in delivering is to make it more convenient for the customer. If you’re going to have to drive five minutes just to meet me, I’ll drive five minutes farther so you don’t have to leave your house. That should be the convenience of delivery.”

The restaurant, which can be found in the plaza across from the Buckhannon Post Office, features more than just pizza, including salads, wings, strombolis, hoagies, pasta, desserts and their signature wedgies.

Fox’s Pizza employee Nate Poling said customers love their salads, especially the French fry salads.

“I don’t really know of anyone else that does a fry salad, but ours are really good and everyone seems to love them,” Poling said.

Chapman said she would have a hard time picking just a single favorite item off the menu.

“It’s really hard to say, because I genuinely think all our food is delicious,” Chapman said. “Of course, the pizza is great, but if you wanted to try something else, our wedgies, strombolis and hoagies are all excellent too.”
