AVALON, Ohio – Francisco Taboada finished tied for fifth overall at the Mountain East Conference Championship, which finished on Wednesday (Oct. 5) at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio.
The men’s team finished sixth overall at 948, while Davis & Elkins placed first with a score of 903.
Taboada drained an ace on hole number four in the first round on Monday (Oct. 3). The freshman shared the lead after one round of play with a score of 71. Taboada scored a 77 in his second round and a 78 in the final round to finish the three-round event with an overall score of 266.
Alexis Abalos shot a 72 in his final round, which was the lowest total for WVWC. The San Diego, Calif. native had the second-lowest total for the Bobcats at 238. Cole Price completed his tournament right behind Abalos and totaled 240 strokes. Rounding out the scoring for the Wesleyan men were Davis Haynes, who fired a 250, and Rigel Wilson, who ended the tournament with 254 strokes.
On the women’s side, Remmey Lohr shot a 98 in her second round and totaled 203. Faith Yoho fired a 243.
