KERENS – Despite a less than desirable weather forecast Saturday, Budweiser Dirt Super Late Model drivers of Elkins Raceway still put the hammer down for the 3rd Annual Jim Stout Memorial Race.

Tyler Carpenter, of Parkersburg, brought home the impressive $5,037 payout after a hard-fought feat against 17 super late model drivers. Buckhannon’s own Shane Hitt put up a good fight, landing himself in second place with a $3,037 payout. Jacob Hawkins, of Fairmont, came in at a close third bringing home a $2,037 payday.

August 12 feature race winners are as follows:

  • Budweiser Dirt Super Late Models – Tyler Carpenter
  • TKS Contracting/High Point Construction FASTRAK Crate Late Models – AJ Spagnuolo

Due to weather, Holbrook on the Hill UMP Modifieds, Louie’s Bargain Warehouse Street Stocks and Cordial Logistics Edge Hot Mods did not run their respective feature races. Join Elkins Raceway this Saturday, August 19 for make-up features and an evening of regular racing.

Weather permitting, pit gates will open Saturday night at 4 p.m. with $30 admission. General admission to the grandstands begins at 5 p.m. with $15 admission. Children aged 11 and under are free in general admission. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
