Carol Ruth Chidester

Carol Ruth Chidester, 57, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Friday April 2, 2021, at her home.

She was born February 17, 1964, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Donald and Virginia Wilfong Spangler. On June 17, 1979 she married Stanley Brent Chidester who preceded her in death on December 18, 2013.

She is survived by her Fiancée, Bill Harlow; one son, Stanley B. Chidester, Jr., and wife Rindi of Buckhannon; four daughters, Crystal Chidester and fiancée Tim Champ, Mindy Replogle and husband Mitch, Danielle Burkhammer and Autumn Loudin and husband Nate, all of Buckhannon; one grandson, Dylan Replongle of Buckhannon; nine granddaughters, Shelby Blume and husband James, Sydney Winans, Carlee Champ, Destiny Chidester, Cayli Champ, Madison Loudin, Lilian Loudin, Paige Young, and Josie Rosencrance, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Ed Spangler and wife Jan of NC and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tim, and Charlie Spangler.

Ms. Chidester was a member of Living Word Church of God. She began working for McDonald’s in 1988 and worked her way to becoming an Area Supervisor where she managed four locations. An avid outdoorswoman, she loved hunting, fishing, and kayaking, as well as indoor activities such as bowling, drawing, and making crafts.

Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In honoring Ms. Chidester’s wishes, she will be cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
