St. Joseph’s Hospital breast cancer support group meets the third Thursday of each month

The Breast Cancer Support Group at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital meets the third Thursday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to all breast cancer patients and survivors.

Upcoming meetings:

  • Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026 — 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 — 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026 — 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Thursday meetings are held in Salvati Hall on the hospital’s main campus at 1 Amalia Drive in Buckhannon. Attendees should enter through the side door to the right of the main entrance rather than the main lobby.

Anyone with questions about the group can call 304-974-4192.

Breast health has been a recurring focus at the hospital for years. Staff have marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month each October, gathering outside the main entrance in pink, as part of what the hospital has described as an ongoing effort to encourage monthly breast self-exams and annual mammograms.

St. Joseph’s Hospital is a critical access community hospital in Buckhannon, established more than a century ago by the Pallottine Sisters and now part of WVU Medicine. It offers 24-hour emergency care along with inpatient and outpatient services, including women’s health, for the central West Virginia region. More information is available at wvumedicine.org or by calling 304-473-2000.
