BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The City of Buckhannon Water Department will host a public meeting to review and discuss the community’s Source Water Protection Plan on September 10 at 1 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Public Safety Complex Training Room at 22 S. Florida St.

The Source Water Protection Plan outlines strategies designed to safeguard Buckhannon’s drinking water supply by identifying potential risks, strengthening emergency response coordination and enhancing long-term water quality protections. The meeting will give residents, business owners and community partners an opportunity to learn more about the plan, ask questions and offer input on future protection measures.

Representatives from the Water Department will present an overview of the plan, discuss ongoing initiatives and gather feedback to ensure it reflects local priorities and emerging needs. Public participation is a key component of the planning process, and all interested community members are encouraged to attend.
