Buckhannon waste collection adjusts services due to road conditions

The Buckhannon Transfer Station is operating normally, according to an update from the City of Buckhannon. Waste collection in the city is following the regular pickup schedule.

The Waste Department asks that commercial customers keep the dumpster access area clear so that the trucks can service them. In most cases, a pickup truck will serve residential waste customers who cannot be accessed by a full-size garbage truck. Waste customers whose pickup is usually on Monday can expect to have their waste picked up this Friday.

The Waste Department is making every attempt to service the county’s customers. In most cases, the customers on the main roads will have their waste collected. However, road conditions make it difficult to service the customers on the secondary roads this week.

The Bulky Goods collection for Friday has been postponed by a week.

If any customers were missed this week, either in the city or the county, the department will collect your two weeks of waste next week, weather permitting.

The Street Department is also working to remove excess snow from the city. They ask for your patience as they move large equipment from area to area to achieve this feat.

All other city departments, including City Hall, are operating as usual.
