Buckhannon Splashers win 29 events against Elkins

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon Swim Club Splashers swam against the Elkins Otters last Thursday.

The Splashers won 29 events, taking 16 on the girls’ side and 13 on the boys ‘side.

Several Splashers won all three of their events.

In the girls’ events, Cadence Vincent won all three of her events in the 15-18 year-old group taking the 100-meter freestyle, the 50-meter freestyle and the 50-meter butterfly, as did Berkeley Jeran in the 9-10 year-old group, winning the 25-meter backstroke, the 100-meter IM and the 25-meter butterfly.

The other girls to win were in U-8 Tori Wilsoncroft (50-meter freestyle and the 25-meter butterfly), Augusta Richards (25-meter backstroke) and Valerie Long (25-meter freestyle); 9-10 year-olds were Naomi Hibbs (25-meter breaststroke and the 25-meter freestyle) and Emberlee Bennett (50-meter freestyle); 10-11 year-olds was Cora Cottrill (50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle); 13-14 year-olds was Rylee Yardley (50-meter backstroke).

For the boys, Brody Jeran was a three-time winner in the 13-14 year-old age group placing first in the 100-meter freestyle, the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle. Thomas Wilsoncroft did the same in the 9-10 year-old age group in the 50-meter freestyle, the 25-meter breaststroke and the 25-meter butterfly.

Other victorious boys were U-6 Gentry Roy (25-meter backstroke and the 25-meter freestyle); U-8 were Camdyn Egress (50-meter freestyle and the 25-meter breaststroke) and Holden Carbera (25-meter freestyle); 11-12 year-olds were Tucker Carbera (100-meter IM) and Jackson Richards (50-meter breaststroke).
