Billy Keith Perrine, 77, of Adrian, passed away at home on April 2, 2026. He was a skilled carpenter known for meticulous craftsmanship and artistic designs, and is survived by his children, siblings, and extended family.
Brian Andrew Moore, 41, of Buckhannon, passed away on April 1, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, father, and “Pop Pop,” and enjoyed the outdoors and carpentry.
Buckhannon-Upshur’s offense sputtered in a 13-4 road loss to George Washington, their lowest goal total of the young season. Michael Tracy scored twice, Zack Simmons and Jayden Stackpole added goals, and keeper Gage Scott made 10 saves as the Bucs fell to 2-3.
Buckhannon-Upshur tennis saw a night-and-day Big 10 week, falling 7-0 at Lincoln before bouncing back with a 7-0 home sweep of Philip Barbour. The rain also canceled Tuesday’s match vs. Robert C. Byrd, leaving the Bucs 2-3 overall and 2-1 in conference.
Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lady Bucs rebounded from a 7-0 loss at Lincoln to earn their first win, edging Philip Barbour 4-3 in Big 10 play. Angelina Winter and Kaitlin Davis clinched tight singles victories, lifting B-U to 1-4 overall (1-2 Big 10).
Buckhannon-Upshur couldn’t have asked for a better start, opening the season with Big 10 home wins over Philip Barbour (9-6) and North Marion (14-4, 5 innings). Brody McDaniels and Jaxon Spratt led the way, combining for 9 RBIs in the mercy-rule win.
