Larry Haney, 79, of Buckhannon, died unexpectedly at his home on September 14, 2026. A U.S. Army veteran, he enjoyed attending his grandsons’ sporting events.
B-U senior Angelina Winter reflects on competing in cross country, track, tennis and wrestling, including a state cross-country berth. She also shares her love of challenges, Buccaneer camaraderie, Spider-Man and her goal of becoming a nurse.
Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School swept Elkins in its soccer openers, with the Little Bucs winning 4–1 and the Little Lady Bucs earning a 4–2 victory. Jett Cuppari and Berkley Jeran each scored twice to lead their teams.
