Bruce Raymond Ash

Bruce Raymond Ash, age 62, of Volga, died Friday, September 1, 2023, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport following an extended illness.

He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on October 7, 1960, a son of the late Roy Lee and Patricia Anna Curry Ash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Ash. He is survived by his second wife, Brenda Ash; two stepsons: Nathan Crites and fiancé Catlyn Kennedy of Weston and Branson Crites of Morgantown; one granddaughter, Laikyn Crites who always referred to him as her “Bru” ; five brothers: Doug and wife Ellen Ash of Fairmont, Tim Ash of Kentucky, Rusty and wife Bobbie Bates of Buckhannon, Jason and wife Heather Ash of Clarksburg and Patrick and wife Diane Ash of Shinnston; two sisters: Linda and husband Larry Hederick of Huntington and Janet Blande of Clarksburg; one uncle, Gerald and wife Carolyn Ash of Hagerstown, MD and several nieces and nephews survive. He is also survived by his “fox hole buddy friends” of thirty years.

Bruce was a former veneer manager at Weyerhaeuser from 2009 until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and remote-controlled airplanes. He was a member of the Fairmont Flyers and also Wally’s Squadron. Bruce and his wife Brenda attended Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Friends were received on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel from 12:00-1:00 PM the funeral hour with Rev. Jim Minutelli and Pastor Mike Kirby officiating. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery.
