Brent “Jolly” Cameron Smith

Brent “Jolly” Cameron Smith, 25, of Tallmansville, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born November 18, 1994, a son of Denzil Smith of Lumberport, W.Va. and Wilma Hoover of Tallmansville, W.Va.

On June 20, 2015, he married Torie Poling, who survives.

In addition to his parents and wife he is also survived by his step-father, Brian Hoover of Tallmansville; one sister, Amber Courtney and husband Seth of Buckhannon, W.Va.; one brother, Brooks Smith and wife Alexus of Buckhannon; two step-brothers, Brian Hoover, Jr of Junior, W.Va. and Brett Hoover and girlfriend Whitney Tuttle of Tallmansville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jake and Michelle Marple of Hackers Creek, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Tosha Poling and boyfriend Justin Parks of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs and cats, Scout, Bandit, Gus, Izzy and Gizmo.

Brent was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmie Gay Shipman and brother-in-law, Charles Floyd Marple.

Brent was a logger and attended Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Washington District Fire Department and loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors and the Green Bay Packers. Logging, his wife and his dogs were his life.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday. In honoring Brent’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
