Experience the magic of the past this fall at Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park during the Mansion by Candlelight two-night event on October 9-10. Guests have the option of adding on Harvest Supper tickets for an exclusive dining experience.

“Mansion by Candlelight offers visitors a rare opportunity to step directly into West Virginia’s rich history,” said Acting West Virginia State Parks Chief Dillard Price. “From the sternwheeler ride across the river to their arrival on an island illuminated by the warm glow of lanterns, guests will enjoy an enchanting and memorable evening. Adding the Harvest Supper truly rounds out the experience. We can’t wait to welcome guests to the island for a magical night in the Ohio River Valley.”

During this annual fall event, guests will be transported back over 200 years to a time when Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett hosted grand parties at their stately island mansion. The evening begins with a ride aboard the Island Belle sternwheeler to Blennerhassett Island. Illuminated by hundreds of lanterns and candles, the island sets the scene for a captivating 18th-century experience complete with attendants in period costume, traditional dance performances, Appalachian music and haunting local folklore.

Visitors can enhance their evening with the Harvest Supper, a Blennerhassett picnic-style exclusive, and only available as an add-on purchase.
