Betty Lou Carpenter Wayts

Betty Lou Carpenter Wayts went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

She was born February 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Olen and Iva Sines Carpenter. On May 29, 1949, she married the love of her life Pete Walter Wayts who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by a special friend Norman Dreher, and was a veteran widow.  Also preceding her in death was a son Roger, a grandson, and three sisters.

She is survived by her children Lowell Wayts (Kay), Iris Perry (Mac), Norma Wayts, Menzil Wayts (Debbie), Lois Snider (Bill), Beverly Cogar (Marty), and Mitchell Wayts (Angela); several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one sister Catherine Hanline; and one brother Otto Carpenter.

Betty loved her family; at the age of 10 she was saved and was baptized, then she was so happy to be able to go to the Holy Land and be baptized in the river Jordan. At the age of 75 she learned to read music and play the guitar she would play and sing in church, and even made a CD of her music. Over the years she went to several churches ending up at the Sago Baptist church with Wease Day.

The body will lie-in-state at the Indian Camp Church on Monday, August 1, 2022, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM—the funeral hour, with the Rev. Wease Day officiating.  Interment will follow in the Indian Camp Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Indian Camp Cemetery, 1578 Indian Camp Road, French Creek, WV 26218.
