On May 29, 1949, she married the love of her life Pete Walter Wayts who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by a special friend Norman Dreher, and was a veteran widow.  Also preceding her in death was a son Roger, a grandson, and three sisters.

At the age of 75 she learned to read music and play the guitar she would play and sing in church, and even made a CD of her music. Over the years she went to several churches ending up at the Sago Baptist church with Wease Day.
