Betty Jean Coughlin

It is with both a heavy heart and a spirit of celebration that we share the life of Betty Jean Coughlin who peacefully departed this world on March 14, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Quirico “Quick” and Jessie Douglas Fumerola, Betty spent her 95 years enriching the lives of everyone around her with her warmth, resilience, and loving spirit. Betty was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an award-winning quilter, homemaker, mother and MeMa to many. Her quilts were not just beautiful pieces of art, but also woven narratives of love, time, and tradition. Betty’s creativity was boundless, extending beyond the quilting frame to crocheting and embroidery. Her cooking skills were a testament to her love for her family and friends; each dish a masterpiece that warmed hearts.
