Betty J. (Hollen) Booth

Betty J. (Hollen) Booth, 89, of Buckhannon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021, passing away peacefully at home. 

She was born on December 16, 1931, in Casey County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James Sterling and Gladys Irene Pierce Hollen.  On October 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Richard Booth, who survives.  Also left to cherish her memory are her three children:  Richard (Steve) Booth and wife Lisa, Rebecca and husband Timothy Sapp, and Ronnie Booth and wife Jamie, all of Buckhannon; four grandchildren:  Austin Curry of Clarksburg, Noah Curry of Buckhannon, Roger Booth of Buckhannon, and Aiden Booth of Buckhannon; two step-grandchildren:  Stephen James of Buckhannon and Michaela (James) Cody of Huntington; one sister Joyce (Hollen) Hoover and husband Pat of Buckhannon; one brother Pete Hollen and wife Kay of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters:  infant Betty Fern Hollen, Doris (Hollen) Crawford, and Virginia “Ginny” (Hollen) Gillespie; and one brother Rick Hollen.

Betty was a loving wife and mother and loved to share precious memories with her brothers and sisters.  She worked at the A&P in Buckhannon for 27 years and at the Adrian-Buckhannon Bank for 13 years. 

SSpecial thanks and appreciation are extended by the family to West Virginia Hospice for their excellent care and caregivers Clara Kelley, Helen Shields, Donna Zirkle and John Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 6-8:00 PM, at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Virginia Hospice, 21 East Main Street – Suite 301, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
