Bessie “Betty” E. Smith

Bessie “Betty” E. Smith, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025.

She was born December 9, 1929, in Weston, West Virginia.

Bessie was a member of Passion Church in Hartville and frequently attended Higher Praise Ministries in Munroe Falls.

Preceded in death by her husband, Morris Smith; son, Nicholas Smith; three brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by children, Carla (Bob) Walkerow, Lonnie (Tina) Smith, Joyce (Gary) Williams, Bobby Smith, Mark (Dawn) Smith, Sonya (Joe) Berenyi, and Morris (Amanda) Smith Jr.; 22 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren.

A special thank you for the love and care from great granddaughter, Leigh Neal, daughter-in-law, Tina Smith, and nurse and great granddaughter, Kristin Smith.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 7:00 pm at Passion Church, 61 Hartville Rd, Hartville, OH 44632.

Family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until the service at the church in Ohio.

Friends will be received Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1 PM at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, WV. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Fred Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Camp Cemetery in French Creek, WV.
