Bernadine P. Leggett

Bernadine P. Leggett, 87, of Buckhannon died on Monday, March 30, 2020, at Holbrook Healthcare Center following a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1933, in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Bruce and Amy Burgess.

She was united in marriage on December 17, 1951, to Ralph Duane Leggett, who preceded her in death on January 6, 2012.  She is survived by two daughters:  Jennifer Lynne Powers and husband Tink and Patricia Ann Leggett, both of Buckhannon; three sons: Thomas Wayne Leggett and wife Sandy, Timothy Lane Leggett and wife Kristina, and James Allen Leggett and wife Tammy, all of Buckhannon; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister Emma Lou Numbers.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter April Jo Leggett; seven brothers: Harold Burgess, Hobert Burgess, Sherrell Burgess, William Burgess, Max Burgess, Bernard Burgess, and Charles Burgess; and two sisters:  Alice Koch and Maxine Waldo.

Mrs. Leggett was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Private family graveside services were held at the Buckhannon Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org

Online condolences may be extended to the Leggett family at www.heavnerandcutright.com. The Leggett family entrusted the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel with the arrangements.
