Barbour Community Health Association is proud to announce that a new wellness facility, Philippi Wellness Center, has opened in Philippi.

The wellness center is in the rear of the Barbour Chiropractic Center building, located at 206 South Main Street in Philippi, and has some of the same features of its neighboring center, the Belington Wellness Center. The facility is managed by Donna Seaman and offers weight training and cardio equipment, and, when COVID-19 subsides, a range of exercise classes, educational opportunities, and various programs. Available equipment includes treadmills, an elliptical, a NuStep cross trainer, a stationary bicycle, weight machines and free weights. The wellness center will continue to develop and will be adding new equipment over time.

Membership options range from one year, six months and three months. Special rates are available for seniors, students, volunteer firemen, PEIA members, families, Davis Medical Center and 911 staff. In addition, both wellness centers participate in Silver Sneakers. For guests, the cost is $5 for a day pass. Members also have access to both Belington Wellness Center and Philippi Wellness Center with any membership.

The use of masks is governed by state requirements and members are screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entry. Cleaning of equipment between patrons is also being practiced.

Current hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
