Basketball ‘Cats drop 104-66 home decision to Fairmont State

BUCKHANNON — In West Virginia Wesleyan College’s first conference matchup of the season, the Bobcats fell 104-66 to top-ranked Fairmont State University, Saturday in Buckhannon.

Fairmont Statee used the fast break to log 23 points on 21 Bobcat turnovers, and five Falcons scored in double figures as the team made 39-of-74 field goals.

Fairmont’s David Jolinder (23 points), Rudy Fitzgibbons III (16 points), Taj Thweatt (14 points), Tyheil Peterson(13 points) and Andre Harris (111 points) amassed 77 of the Falcons point total.

Wesleyan’s Michael Batchelor led the Bobcats with 16 points including 4-of-5 three-pointers and two free throws.

Alexander Gray added 12 points and a team-leading seven rebounds.

The Bobcats travel to Frostburg State University Tuesday, Nov. 26 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
