Basketball ‘Cats drop 102-64 road decision at Cal (Pa.)

CALIFORNIA (Pa.) — The West Virginia Wesleyan (0-3) men’s basketball team fell in a non-conference matchup to California (Pa.) (2-2) on Thursday (Nov. 17) night by a 102-64 score.

Leaders for WVWC
Darius Green had 22 points while distributing two assists and ripping down six rebounds. Anthony Craven Jr. (12) and Tyler Slone (11) each scored double figures. Jordan Cannon ripped away two steals.

Inside the Game
After nearly five minutes of play, the score was tied 8-8 to begin the game. The Vulcans caught fire for the rest of the first half shooting 69.2% from beyond the arc and had a 64.3% field goal percentage. Despite 20 points from Darius Green in the first half, the Bobcats trailed at halftime, 59-33.

Coming out of halftime, the Vulcans went on a 25-5 run and led 84-38 with 10 minutes left in the second half. The Bobcats shot 50% from beyond the arc in the second half an improvement of nearly 27%. California (Pa.) would go on to win the game, 102-64.
