TENNERTON – Buckhannon-Upshur finished eighth in the final regular season WVSACA (Coaches) Poll in Class AAAA.
The Bucs posted a 1-1 week last week, losing a one-point heartbreaker to No. 2 Morgantown and rebounding to beat rival Lewis County on the road.
B-U, who has spent most of the season in the eighth spot in the coaches’ poll, ended the year with a 14-8 record. They will open South Regional Tournament play Friday as the eighth seed hosting Parkersburg.
In Class AAAA, George Washington and Morgantown split the first-place votes at eight apiece but George Washington held onto the top spot with 155 points while Morgantown is second with 153.
Chapmanville takes over the top spot this week in Class AAA from Capital wile Wheeling Central remains first in Class AA while Greater Beckley remains on top of Class A.
