Nathan Channell is the new chief financial officer of Barbour Community Health Association, where he will help plan for the organization’s growth and health services in Barbour County.
Patients can receive medical and behavioral health care at the association’s Belington and Myers clinics, the release states.
“His background in financial leadership, combined with a genuine commitment to community health, will strengthen our ability to plan responsibly and invest wisely in the services our patients rely on,” Chief Executive Officer Eric Ruf said in the association’s September 30 release.
Before joining the association, Channell held banking positions as credit risk officer at Citizens Bank of West Virginia, controller at Davis Trust Company and assistant controller at Mountain Valley Bank. He also worked as an audit and assurance staff associate at Grossman Yanak and Ford LLP.
The release credits his work in those roles with improving internal financial controls. His work also covered financial reporting, regulatory filings and support for executive decisions.
Channell earned a master’s degree in finance at the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting at West Virginia University, graduating magna cum laude. He is working toward licensure as a certified public accountant.
My Buckhannon reported in February on the association’s promotion of Sonja Mitchell to radiology director. Information about the association’s services is available at barbourhealth.org.
