B-U’s Egress and Spratt play in WVSSAC High School Girls Golf Invitational

ELIZABETH – The Buckhannon-Upshur golf team sent two players to the 2023 WVSSAC High School Girls Golf Invitational Tuesday at the Mingo Bottom Golf Club in Elizabeth.

Participating for Buckhannon-Upshur were freshman Makenzie Egress and junior Taylor Spratt.

In a field of 59 golfers, Egress finished 36th with a 107 while Taylor Spratt placed in a tie for 43rd with a 115.

Egress shot a 55 on the front nine and a 52 on the back nine landing pars on the 10th and 13th holes.

Spratt fired a 59 on the front nine and a 56 on the back nine.

Savannah Hawkins of Hurricane won the event with a 2-under 70 while Kerri-Anne Cooke of Westside was runner-up with an even par 72.
