B-U’s Abel named to Big 10 All-Conference Basketball First Team

TENNERTON – Buckhannon-Upshur junior forward Alyssa Abel was named to the Big 10 All-Conference Girls Basketball Team that was released today.

Abel was selected to the First Team.

Abel led the Lady Bucs in scoring this past season, averaging 10.0 points per game. She also paced the Lady Bucs in rebounding with 6.6 per contest and led the team in blocks with 12.

Abel was the lone Buckhannon-Upshur player to make the team.

The Lady Bucs finished the year with a 4-17 record.

Grafton and Robert C. Byrd led the All-Conference Team with two First Team selections.

East Fairmont, which won the regular-season title, swept the individual honors.

Kenly Rogers was named the Player of the Year while her head coach James Beckman was named Coach of the Year.
