TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs put two players on the 2023 Big 10 All-Conference Volleyball Team.
Junior Alyssa Abel was named to the First Team while senior Abby Hurst was selected to the Second Team.
Abel finished the season with 11 aces, serving 92 percent. She finished the year with 174 kills, 170% hitting, 22 blocks, 17 assists and 162 digs. She had to miss the last six B-U games due to an injury.
Hurst completed her senior season with 32 aces, serving 82 percent. She tallied 101 kills, hitting 040% with 34 blocks, 14 assists and 90 digs.
The Lady Bucs ended the year with a 9-24 record and finished fifth in the Big 10 Conference.
Bridgeport, which won the regular-season conference championship, placed three players on the First Team.
Bridgeport also swept the individual awards as Myleigh Smell was named the Conference Player of the Year while Ali Burton was named Coach of the Year.
