B-UMS soccer squads earn tie and get win with Robert L. Bland

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School soccer teams ended their regular season Wednesday with home games against the Robert L. Bland Patriots.

The Little Lady Bucs tied Robert L. Bland by a 2-2 score while the Little Bucs won their outing by a 5-2 score.

For the Little Lady Bucs, nobody scored in the first half of their contest. All four goals occurred in the second half as Isabella Nottingham and Lylah Ketterman each had a goal for B-UMS.

Little Lady Buc keeper Hannah Kelley made 12 saves.

B-UMS finished their regular season with a 6-4-4 record.

The Little Bucs raced out to a 3-1 lead at the break en route to a 5-2 win over the Patriots.

Brody Wright had three goals while Dominic Figueroa and Ayden Travise each had one.

Landon Wright had eight stops in net for B-UMS.

The win gave the Little Bucs a 9-3-1 record on the year.

Both teams will begin post-season tournament action next week with opponents and times to be announced.
