B-U boy’s and girl’s soccer tournament seedings and pairings announced

TENNERTON – The seedings and pairings for the Region I, Section 2 soccer tournament have been announced on both the boys and girls side.

On the boy’s side, the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers earned the third seed with an overall record of 6-10-2 and a 1-1-1 mark within the section.

The Bucs will visit the second seeded Bridgeport Indians Tuesday at 6 p.m.

B-U dropped their regular season contest to the Indians by a 2-0 score back on Oct. 4 in Bridgeport.

In the other sectional battle, the fourth seed Preston Knights will travel to Morgantown to face the top seeded University Hawks Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The two winners of Tuesday’s outings will meet for the sectional title Thursday at either 6 or 8 p.m.

On the girl’s side, the Lady Bucs earned the second seed and will host University on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Lady Bucs ended the year with a 10-8-2 record overall and a 2-1 mark in sectional play.

Buckhannon-Upshur crushed University in the regular season with a 5-0 road victory on Oct. 8.

In the other half of the sectional, Preston will visit Bridgeport in the No. 4 vs. No. 1 game Tuesday at 8 p.m.

The two semifinal winners will be Thursday at a time to be determined.
