Arson Bland Channell

Arson Bland Channell, age 66, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born September 3, 1956, in Elkins, WV, a son of the late Eddie Willie and Erma May Dolly Channell.

On October 12, 2009, he married Judy Stackpole Channell who survives. Also surviving one brother, Roger Wayne Channell and wife Kim of Shavers Fork, WV; brother in law, Joe Stackpole and wife Judy of Buckhannon; four nephews, Brandon Channell and wife April of Kerens, WV, Seth Channell and wife Roschelle of Elkins, WV, Ronnie Stackpole and wife Missy of Camden, WV and Dalton Stackpole and wife Becca of Buckhannon; one niece, Whitney Marsh and husband Josh of Jacksons Mill, WV; eighteen great-nieces and great-nephews, Arabella, Georgianna, Kylea, Gavin, Tucker, Hendrix, Jason, Payton, Landon, Carly, Creed, Connor, Addie, Emily, Kyleigh, Gunner, Karsyn and Jaxton; his best furry friend, Chinook.

Arson was a roofing construction worker and a seasonal laborer at the WV Wildlife Center in French Creek, WV. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. His greatest joy was living history re-enactments. It was the opportunity to teach those young and old how our ancestors not only survived but thrived by hunting, trapping, fishing and making the best of the bounty our Lord provided for us. He found many special friends among his fellow re-enactors.

In honoring Arson’s wishes he will be cremated.
