A&O Railroad to hold June 2 job fair in Bridgeport

A&O Railroad will host a job fair on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Bridgeport Conference Center as the company looks to fill freight train conductor positions at its Grafton operation.

The job fair will run from noon to 7 p.m. at the center, located at 300 Conference Center Way, Bridgeport, WV, 26330.

The Appalachian and Ohio Railroad operates 158 miles of track between Grafton and Cowen. It interchanges with CSX at Grafton and connects with three short-line railroads across the region.

Conductors are in charge of the train, determining what work is done and how, and handling the paperwork and computer work. Engineers operate the locomotive, with conductors promoted to engineer based on seniority.

No prior experience is required. New hires complete a roughly 12-week local training program with a series of operating rules and safety tests before promotion to conductor. Union pay scale and benefits begin upon promotion.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and an excellent safety and attendance record.

To apply, visit a-orailroad.com, email a resume to hr@a-orailroad.com or attend the job fair at the Bridgeport Conference Center from noon to 7 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
