Another COVID-19 case confirmed in Upshur County Thursday morning, six in Lewis County

A third new COVID-19 case was reported in Upshur County on Thursday morning and six additional cases have been identified in Lewis County.

Randolph and Barbour counties have also reported new cases in the last 24 hours.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources included the new Upshur County case in their 10 a.m. update Thursday. Two additional cases were previously reported Wednesday evening.

The Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department has not released any information on the new cases, but some local businesses are taking precautions, as My Buckhannon reported Wednesday.

Overall, 24 new cases were reported overnight in West Virginia.

The State Fair of West Virginia, which recently announced plans for the 2020 event, has now been canceled, the board of directors announced Thursday morning.
