Anna Ruth Hitt, 83, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2025. Her warmth, humor, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched all who knew her.
Born on March 26, 1942, in Adrian, WV. She graduated from Buckhannon High School. Anna was a beloved mother, sister and wife. Anna was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim Hitt her parents Virgil and Juanita Cunninghman and her sister Mabel Huffman. Anna is survived by her son, Jamie, who was the light of her life, and her three beloved siblings: Mart Cunningham, Fred Cunningham, Linda Wilson and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Anna’s love for her family was paramount; her legacy of kindness and compassion lives on in her family and those who had the privilege of knowing her. In her later years, Anna enjoyed singing karaoke and caring for her treasured cat and dog; Marbles and Chance.
Anna’s request for Cremation has been honored at Clutter Funeral Home. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
