The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Monday that 1,115 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in the Mountain State. That’s an increase of 89 since the last report.
Locally, COVID-19 cases are active in Upshur (14), Barbour (5), Lewis (16), Randolph (11) and Webster (18) counties. In Upshur County, the number of active cases remained steady from Friday’s level.
No additional deaths were attributed to the disease over the weekend.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of July 19, 2021, there have been 3,074,024 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 165,177 total cases and 2,919 deaths,” according to a press release.
The daily percent positive was 3.51%.
A total of 868,599 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said. That’s about 49% of the state.
