A 2-year-old child was killed in an accident shooting in southern West Virginia, according to a press release from the State Police.
On December 14, 2024, West Virginia State Police Sergeant T. D. Boggs responded to a report of an accidental shooting involving a 2-year-old on Madison Street in Chapmanville, the release states. The victim was transported by the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority to the Logan Regional Medical Center. Upon arrival, he was pronounced deceased.
Christina Bryant, Medical Examiner, confirmed that the victim would be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Team also responded and conducted the crime scene investigation. This investigation is ongoing.
