I have always counted it an honor to serve the citizens of West Virginia when I was a little league coach, W.Va. State Trooper and now a minister trying to help addicts and families of addicts. My brother served all of us when he was in the Navy and as a golf pro. My dad served Upshur County, as a delegate, commissioner and schoolteacher.

My sister, Charlene Shaffer Dean, would love the opportunity to continue to serve Upshur as a member of the W.Va. House of Delegates. If Steve and I did not think Charlene could do the job, then we would not give our open support. But Charlene loves the citizens of Upshur County, loves her Lord, loves her family, is pro life, pro gun, pro Trump, pro term limits, pro military and pro policeman/first responders.

School bus crashes on Route 20 after hitting black ice; one child taken to hospital

A school bus carrying 25 students slid on black ice on Route 20 Wednesday morning and went off the road, according to Upshur County Sheriff Mike Coffman. All students were checked at the scene, and one child was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injuries.
