A holiday message from My Buckhannon

The My Buckhannon Team -- Lily Hicks, Monica Zalaznik, Beckie Boyd, Duane Carpenter, Katie Kuba, Tammy Lyons and Brian Bergstrom.

On behalf of the team at My Buckhannon, I would like to wish our readers a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays this year.

The holiday season has been magical in Upshur County, with parades, festivals, craft shows, nativity scenes and even ice skating. The recent dusting of snow provided the perfect finishing touch on our little winter wonderland. Buckhannon is a lovely place to live, and we are so fortunate to be able to share our stories with readers both near and far.

My Buckhannon employees work incredibly hard to bring you local news and sports every day throughout the year, and to ensure they have time to enjoy the holidays with their loved ones – and to recharge their batteries heading into 2024 – there will be no daily email edition on Monday or Tuesday, both this coming week and next (Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2).

We’ll be sure to keep on top of any breaking news, however, so keep an eye on our website for any updates.

We also have a small but special gift for subscribers – we are in the process of rebooting our MyBucks Community Rewards program, and premium members can test out the latest iteration here: www.mybuckhannon.com/myrewards.

Unlike previous versions of the MyBucks program, we’re coding this one from scratch, which gives us more flexibility to offer something that is fun and rewarding for our readers. We’ll be announcing more about this later, but for now, please give the new system a spin and let us know if you encounter any wonky bugs.

With that, I raise a glass of eggnog to you, Upshur County. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a joyous and happy New Year.
