BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man has been arrested after police found drugs, weapons, body armor and an explosive device while serving a search warrant last week.
According to a press release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, Benjamin J. Reger, 43, of Buckhannon was arrested after the Mountain Lakes Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant on the Tallmansville Road on March 10.
“Seized at the scene were approximately one pound of methamphetamine, 50 firearms, $9,000 cash, body armor, an explosive device and a large quantity of ammunition,” according to the release.
The criminal complaint filed in Upshur County Magistrate Court said the approximate total amount of methamphetamine found was 5.5 ounces, worth about $15,600.
Reger was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. If convicted, he faces 1-15 years in jail and/or a fine of not more than $25,000. He is currently being held on $50,000 bond.
