Just Cuttin’ Up opens new location in former Merle Norman with all-new salon services — including massages

Just Cuttin' Up has opened up a brand new location inside the former Merle Norman and the Pink Hydrangea store, They've also offered waxings, massages and other services to their repertoire.

BUCKHANNON – Just Cuttin’ Up has made the former Merle Norman and Pink Hydrangea storefront into its own.

Moving across Main Street to its new location near Tateep Unique Boutique and Stone Tower Brews, the salon officially opened at its new location Nov. 1.

Manager of Just Cuttin’ Up Becki Ferguson said their stylist Bre’Auna Holmes offers several new services they did not have at their previous location.

“We are offering manicures, pedicures, facials, body waxing — both face and full body – and spray tanning; plus, she is also a hairstylist and a colorist,” Ferguson said. “We also have a licensed massage therapist on hand, and she does all kinds of massages. She does a Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and prenatal massage.

Just Cuttin’ Up is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., but Ferguson said they will take appointments as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 8 p.m.

“The new location offers better access to the middle of town,” Ferguson said. “It’s a brand-new building. There was a fire upstairs, but it’s been remodeled,” Ferguson said. “We’re really growing, so we have four parking places in the back for our clients.”

Just Cuttin’ Up offers $8 clipper cuts for veterans, first responders and active military year-round.

“We do kids’ cuts on Mondays, so we have a discount on Mondays, Tuesdays are always our senior day at 10 percent off. For our military members, we do $8 clipper cuts and $12 shears and then 10 percent off on all other services and products for our military and first responders,” Ferguson said.

Just Cuttin’ Up posts their other specials on their Facebook page; search for JustCuttinUpInWestVirginia.

“We have wonderful people,” Ferguson said. “I’m originally from Elkins and Buckhannon is just such a wonderful, caring town. We have that feeling where you can come in and sit down and chat — and you don’t have to come get a haircut or service to stop in and say hello.”

“Right now, COVID has dampened those spirits a little bit, but that’s not a forever thing,” she added.

Ferguson said they offer good service and products at a fair price.

“I believe that we offer the best possible services available with top-of-the-line products,” she said. “We have good products for our clients to take home and use to keep their hair healthy, and we’re very reasonably priced.”
