Kenneth Philip (Kenny) Koblank

Kenneth Philip (Kenny) Koblank, 68, of French Creek, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 28, 2020.

He was born in Miami, Fla. on February 29, 1952, and was preceded in death by his father, Albert Bernard Koblank, and mother, Roberta Hardwick Hucks Koblank.

He is survived by two sons: Anthony Shane Koblank and wife Courtney of Newton, N.C. and Christopher Dylan Koblank and wife Kim of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter Kenna Ashley Koblank of Vicenza, Italy; grandsons:  Rufus Koblank, Julian Celentano, Chancellor Koblank, and Lucas Celentano; granddaughters: Olive Koblank and Isabelle Koblank; brother Larry Hucks; two sisters: Dinah Hucks Thomas Campi and Karen Koblank Bennett Floyd; nephews: David Thomas, Jason Bennett, and Aaron Floyd; and nieces:  Donna Thomas Overkamp and Amy Floyd.

He was a 1970 graduate of Carol City High School in Dade County, Fla., and earned a degree in the field of Computer Science in Gastonia, N.C.  He was the former owner of the Country Store on the Alexander Road in French Creek, W.Va.  His most recent vocation was as a computer software developer for many County Boards of Education throughout the state of West Virginia.

We, as his family, are most grateful that he had made a recording of his mother telling numerous interesting stories about her life; what a treasure that is to have.

He was always delighted to hear from his children and grandchildren.  He loved to worship God and enjoyed playing the keyboard, which he had done at the Hallelujah Barn and some other churches he had attended.  He most recently attended The Way of Holiness Church and loved his pastor and many friends there, as well as friends at other churches he had attended.  Beside music and computers, he enjoyed feeding the birds, using his carpentry and building skills, and was trained in masonry.

It was a joy for him to support ministries like his home church, Overland Missions, Teen Challenge, and others financially.  His desire was for every person to have a relationship with our Creator and have assurance of an eternal home in heaven through repentance of sins and forgiveness by God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  He looked forward to reuniting with his parents and seeing our Savior face-to-face.  “This world is not my home, I’m just-a-passin’ through.”

At the request of the deceased, the body was cremated.  The family will gather together for a public memorial service at a later date, to be held at The Way of Holiness Church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating.

Online condolences may be extended to the Koblank family at www.heavnerandcutright.com. The Koblank family entrusted the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service with the arrangements.
